Happy day, Washington. The sun has been coming out recently, and it looks like we’ll get to go outside soon.
Not only can you use this website and smartphone app to find hiking trails in WA, you can find them anywhere across the globe. Plus, you can tag your photos and instantly upload them with your smartphone’s GPS. You can even share your experiences, tips, commentary etc. for others to see. So don’t try pulling any Roadrunner-esque stunts like posting an update reading, “Free cookies to the left” if by cookies you mean “ant hills and malicious tigers.” Go to www.everytrail.com for more information.
Just last week the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) released a new version of the flyer’s rights bill.
Keep in mind that these go into effect as of August 23rd, 2011.
Updates include:
According to the bill, airlines will now reimburse you if they lose your baggage, or if you’re bumped from a flight. Your airline would provide you with double the price of your ticket (up to $800,) and if you’re delayed for longer than two hours you can receive up to $1,300. Nice!
Airlines will be required to discuss all fees on their websites, so now you’ll know what it costs to check your bags, cancel a flight etc. Also, if you cancel within the first 24 hours of booking a ticket you won’t receive a cancellation fee.
Right now if you’re on a domestic flight, your plane isn’t allowed to sit on the tarmac for longer than three hours without letting its passengers off. With this bill international flights will be included in this rule, except their maximum time limit is four hours. Also, the planes are required to give you water and access to restrooms at all times. Hooray!
In a 2008 study called, “Do More Expensive Wines Taste Better,” The Journal of Wine Economicsstates, “Individuals who are unaware of the price do not derive more enjoyment from more expensive wine. In a sample of more than 6,000 blind tastings, we find that the correlation between price and overall rating is small and negative, suggesting that individuals on average enjoy more expensive wines slightly less.” http://bit.ly/fsB9jV
And no, if you ever drive in one of our limos that offers wine, they will not use this study as an excuse to replace the fancy Bordeaux with Two Buck Chuck.
There’s someone like her every time. All we need now are more people like Louis CK to pwn obnoxious airport passengers:
Louis CK is a master at awkward humor and writes, directs, and edits his own show. Sometimes we watch his show and feel like bad people without even knowing why.
According to Napoleon Hill and hippies, “Successful people make lots of decisions, and they make decisions quickly.”
