User books town car via smartphone or Web. Ride is confirmed via text message and driver may call to confirm details. Car service arrives in as little as an hour, or users can book up to several weeks in advance.
The service is free to end users. Sedan companies are charged a referral fee.
Pinpoint Pickup's contracted car companies are licensed operators, carefully pre-screened for quality. Customers can use a preferred operator code to request a specific company.
Pinpoint Pickup, LLC, was founded in Redmond, Wash. in 2009, by Jonathan Tai, Desiree Phair and Dirk Groeneveld. The three met via University of California, Irvine.
